The requirements and design of a compliant height safety system vary between every roof and structure.

To develop the best solution, RIGCOM undertakes an initial inspection and prepares a site-specific risk assessment that considers:

• The substructure of the building
• Number of people accessing the area
• Frequency of access
• Activities to be completed at height

Work methodologies and product and design solutions are then developed, which may include proprietary or custom engineered systems.

RIGCOM’s team of trained and accredited technicians ensure that height safety systems are installed in accordance with manufacturer instructions, regulator Codes of Practice and in accordance with the Working at Heights Association (WAHA) Industry Codes.

Each system installed by RIGCOM is individually tagged, certified and photographed and may include anchor points, walkways, handrails, guardrails, access ladders, mobile fall arrest systems, rail systems, horizontal and vertical lifelines and platforms.

Product information, warranties, load calculations, compliance certificates and inspection checklists are uploaded into RIGCOM’s ALTUM™ portal, providing clients with 24/7 access. Verification that the safety systems have been installed in accordance with Standards, Codes of Practice and manufacturer requirements is also included.

All our technicians have been trained by manufacturers and hold all relevant Working at Heights qualifications. RIGCOM also carries full workers compensation insurance; public liability insurance; professional indemnity insurance, and is guided by ISO 9001 Quality installation principles.  

RIGCOM inspects and tests all rope access, lifting, rigging and materials handling equipment, considering:

• The level of product exposure and use
• Standards recommendations
• Codes of Practice
• Manufacturer requirements

During the first inspection, technicians thoroughly record all safety related assets to establish a baseline, which makes ongoing inspection and reporting significantly faster.

Annual inspection records are maintained, which enables clients to establish a system of inspection and compliance maintenance over time.

Whenever a safety system is installed, clients should be given handover documentation that demonstrates the compliance of this system

Ongoing recertification is required in all states and territories under the AS/NZS1891.4 and AS1657 Standards. It is also required by Regulations in most States and Territories.

During this process, every asset on site is assessed against a customised equipment checklist to ensure ongoing product or system compliance.

Each asset is logged – either manually via its unique serial number or by allocating an RFID tag; photographed; tagged to record the re-inspection date and any failures are recorded.

Further inspection or testing of additional assets can be easily arranged and an asset inspection history can be produced showing a full-service background and trends in failures.

RIGCOM will send a notification to you one month prior to the due date so that your system re-certification can be booked in.

Repairs must be completed by a trained and endorsed service agency. As a Certified Repair Facility (CRF) for 3M Fall Protection products, RIGCOM provides manufacturer-level inspection and repairs on products including winches and self-retracting lifelines.

In addition, RIGCOM leases fall protection equipment (including RoofJockey™ hire), which provides a cost-effective alternative to procurement. RIGCOM also services and maintains records for equipment, helping to reduce operating costs for clients.
